Sometimes it’s just too cold to enjoy the beautiful outdoors of Colorado Springs. We’ve put together a list of some of our favorite indoor activities in Colorado Springs.
With 300+ days of sunshine a year and mild seasons, Colorado is a dream for outdoor living. However, it’s good to have a back-up plan for rainy and snowy days. When weather doesn’t permit hiking, biking, or water activities, here’s a list of our favorite indoor activities.
Sky Zone is an indoor trampoline park located in northern Colorado Springs, off Woodmen. They offer open jump, memberships, and host events and birthday parties. Their featured highlights are:
Freestyle Jump – Let go of gravity and grab some air on wall-to-wall trampoline courts. Challenge a friend or show off your inner acrobat. Reach new heights while flipping and jumping on the biggest trampoline court in our park.
Foam Zone – Push. Evolve. Fly. The Foam Zone is all about big air and soft landings. The ideal area to practice your most daring stunts safely into a pool of huge foam squares. So soft, it will feel like a cloud.
SkySlam – Our SkySlam trampoline basketball experience helps you get enough air to reach the rim and dunk! Grab your friends to shoot some hoops and show off your slams. There are rims of different heights to accommodate all ages and sizes.
Dodgeball – Soar into the air beyond the bounds of gravity to avoid getting hit and keep your adrenaline rushing as you rise up to meet your inner athlete in a game of gravity-free trampoline dodgeball. Bring your competitive spirit and get ready to conquer the unexpected.
Aircourt – Play basketball, soccer, volleyball or dodgeball on this springy, air-filled multi-court. The air-filled floor allows for tricks and stunts that regular fields and courts do not.
Air City 360 is newer to Colorado Springs and adds a whole lot of fun! Find this indoor adventure park on the north side of Colorado Springs off Spectrum Loop. Similarly to Sky Zone, you can walk-in for open jump or reserve one of their private rooms for a party. Air City offers a bit more of an elevated dynamic.
The 360 – Defy gravity by soaring through 500′ of airspace. This zipline, designed for people at least 4 feet tall, weighing 30 pounds or more, is the only air coaster in the USA of its kind!
The City – The largest inflatable in Colorado! Try your skills on 12 challenging obstacle courses, including slides, hanging walls, duck and dive agility tests, and balance beams.
Zipway – A 60′ dual zipline.
Skytower – Try your Spidey skills by climbing vertical through webs that reach 26′ high! Conquer the tower and take a ride down the spinning slide.
Toddler 180 Park – For those 8 and under, the toddler obstacle course and soft play area is perfect for crawlers and keeps them occupied.
For those who aren’t particularly fond of bouncing, Air City has an entire arcade section with popular games and an air hockey table. Win tickets and redeem them for prizes at the counter. A small café is equipped with drinks and snacks to refuel between jumps.
Dart Wars is an indoor Nerf battle arena, offering the coolest alternative to laser tag and paintball for ages 5+! In the Nerf Battle arena you will be put on a team and play “Game Modes” that last 3-5 mins per round. 1-hit from a bullet/dart, and you are out for that round. Find the battle ground conveniently located off the Powers corridor on Championship View with a second location coming soon!
Dart Wars provides Elite Darts and Rival Ball ammo for all participants. For Nerf enthusiasts, you have the option to bring your own blasters as long as it takes said ammo. You can even bring in your modified blasters. To ensure the safety of others, all blasters must shoot under 130 fps. Don’t have your own weaponry? Dart Wars has a free section of basic blasters. There is also an “Advanced” blaster category for $5 and a “Premium” section for $10 that are available to rent. The arena is occupied with a mixture of children ages 5 and up, teenagers, and adults. Safety glasses or face masks are to be worn at all times.
WhirlyBall makes for a fantastic indoor activity for an older crowd. Kids will have a blast here, but there’s great variety that caters to the fun adult. The WhirlyBall location here in Colorado Springs is conveniently located off Academy and Palmer Park Blvd. Their playtime options include: WhirlyBall, laser tag, bowling, and pop-up games such as Ping Pong, Giant Jenga, Cornhole and more!
What is WhirlyBall? They define it as “the most fun you can have going 4 miles an hour! WhirlyBall combines lacrosse, hockey, basketball, and bumper cars in a game of skill coupled with a touch of chance. It’s the endorphin-inducing answer to your typical outing!” You’ll grab your scoop, pick your buggy, and enjoy 10 minutes of competitive fun.
Their locations offer a relaxed yet elevated dining experience featuring fresh takes on classic American fare, an expansive rotating craft beer selection, and refreshing signature cocktails. Even better, they love a good party! If you’re looking to have a party of any kind, they’re happy to assist in planning and facilitating from start to finish.
Escape Rooms
Whether you’re looking for something family-friendly or a creepy adult outing, Colorado Springs offers many escape rooms. According to The Escape Game, an escape room is an immersive, 60-minute, real-life adventure game. There are 5 steps to success:
1. Select A Theme
First, you’ll pick which epic, themed escape room you want to play! Themes range from exciting and action-packed to silly and light-hearted. Popular themes include bank heists, prison breaks, and zombies.
2. Meet Your Game Guide
After choosing a room, you’ll meet your Game Guide. The Game Guide takes you to your room, explains the rules, and answers any questions before you begin your adventure.
3. Enter The Game And Watch A Mission Video
Once you’re ready to start the game, your team will watch a mission video. This video explains the world your team is now a part of, what you’re trying to accomplish, and why you only have 60 minutes to do so!
Some missions are about escaping the room, like in a prison break room. Other missions might not be centered around escaping, but instead, you might be completing a heist or launching a Martian spaceship.
4. Escape The Room!
To escape, start by searching the room! Look for patterns or connections and communicate with your teammates! Together you can find solutions. You’ll solve puzzles, uncover clues, and crack codes to progress through the game!
5. Get A Clue
Don’t forget to call for clues or ask your Game Guide for help! They’re there to make sure you have an awesome experience and help your team escape!
Bowling Alleys
Who doesn’t love a classic bowling alley? We highly recommend Harmony Bowl, King Pin Lanes, and PinHeadz if you’re looking for a more stream-line approach. If you’re looking for a full bowling alley with some extras, The Summit Interquest will be more fitting. The Summit has an arcade, laser tag, and prize room. They offer a full menu and bar.
If you happen to be looking for Summer Break activities, PinHeadz and The Summit participate in Kids Bowl Free. This program is designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way to spend time over break. Children ages 2-16 can be registered to receive 2 free games a day!

I’m not sure you’ll ever feel cooler than when you’re throwing an axe. Bad Axe Throwing Colorado Springs hosted the 2019 Throwdown Axe Festival to great success, hosting close to 100 athletes over a 3 day span. With a team of axe coaches that immediately fell in love with the sport, Bad Axe offers an unforgettable experience!
The My Front Range Living team had a team building day at Bad Axe and we had an incredible time. The coaches were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, encouraging, helpful, and did a wonderful job at keeping us safe! There are several different styles of grips, throws, and techniques they demonstrate and allow you to try. Once you get the hang of it, let the games commence! Challenge your friends to a battle of precision and accuracy and see who reigns champion.
